Whenever I'm back in town to visit I stop in. Get a plate of fish tacos. And when they ask if you want anything else, just get another fish taco.

No need for fillers here. The chicken was well seasoned and the tortilla nice and crispy and fresh. Soft tortilla. This place will always stand as an option, if you need a bite to eat during anytime of the week or hour of the day.
This place was just ok to me. The food was good but as I always say the competition is tough out here in Tucson for Mexican. I get a sense that this a college joint, and the place will continue to get a steady customer base of students who need sustenance at all hours of their busy school weeks. Especially when they go party on the weekends and get drunk, this feels like one of those spots, I would stop by if I had a few drinks and needed some food.
Other than that, if you need to get food right now this is your place, but if you can wait and get some good food then, Tucson is full of other joints. You be the judge. It's a pretty basic little taco joint that is open all hours of the night. The people are friendly, the prices are cheap, and the food is pretty good but FYI I'm pretty sure the Spanish rice is not vegetarian.
It's made with Consomm. It looks dirty everywhere you look.
Food wasnt that good. Ive never felt more offended by a 4 star average review location. I was in town from good ol California. We all went out to get drunk and decided we'd walk here for food.
Knowing no one makes burritos like CA, I knew I was going for a plain rice, beans, and cheese burrito. Basic burrito building components. Plus, all our friends raved about this spot. A carne asada burrito was just the meat and pico de gallo, extra for said basic burrito ingredients. All I kept thinking was , 'We aren't in California anymore!' So I order their bean and cheese and at extra for rice. I had to rewrap my own burrito!
And the ingredients weren't even tasty. They were the kind of thing my Mexican ranch raised mother would cook when sick and can't taste anything.
We witnessed a man wake up to finish eating their burrito, fall back asleep, wake up, barf on his burrito, take a bite, then leave. Party on Omar, party on. Lol. Arizonans, please come out to CA to try a real burrito experience. Salsas are tasteless. Too bad salsas don't elevate them.
Went for a breakfast burrito. Ordered stake egg and cheese and added potatoes. There just wasn't much flavor at all.
I was pretty disappointed. Next time I'll just go to nicos. Very polite, knowledgeable staff. They were open after we left downtown and had great drunk food! I got the Carne Asada fries.
Lots of meat and condiments on top. We also got some horchata. The cashier was very sweet and made sure we drank water before we left (I was obviously drunk I guess lol). I appreciate her caring about my hydration. Thanks for the great food and service, The Taco Shop! This is my second favorite taco shop in Tucson (that I have tried).
Sometimes you want a big ass burrito with some spicy salsa, and that is full of flavor, I am new to the area and have tried them three times. Taco Shop serves its purpose, extremely well. Breakfast burritos, lunch time, dinner, or even late night (I stopped by on my way home from the airport) get's it done! You serve your own salsa, be prepared to do that, in those little containers.. As well, a side note, if you order breakfast burritos, make sure you ask them to add potatoes ($.
I don't understand.. Hook a brotha up with some pappas! Excellent food. Great tasting homemade salsas of various levels of picante. Service is always friendly and fast. Nothing we've ever ordered is greasy or overlooked. My favorite is the chicken fajitas burrito. You can also customize your breakfast burrito order.
They don't hesitate to just make it the way you want. Portions are plentiful! For dining in, there are several small tables.
So if you've got a group and there's no room, just order their home cooked tasting food and dine at home. This is one of our regular spots! I've came here many times but today was the worst experience I understand you get busy but my food was cold and employees gave me a response of it was just made I understand it was just made but I saw my order sitting at the counter for 2. I have to wait an hour to get my food done because you let it get cold ! Very unhappy with everything all around today .
And talking crap about your customers when they don't look Mexican perm. The fish burrito is to die for. The price is also killer (around four bucks, and the thing is bigger than my hand). I'd rather come here than Chipotle. TSC also has horchata. Feel free to top it off - you can refill your cup for free. By the way, the fact that this place is open 2.
Tucson such a wonderful place. I def judge a mex restruants by their salsa. The food was great for a hole in the wall and the service was excellent! This place deserves a revisit! Picked up take out and when I got home it was short 2 enchiladas and an order of beans. A mistake is understandable, but BLAMING the customer is NOT ok.
When I called to let them know of the mistake, he said that I had . Then he went on to blame me again that the beans were missing. It is NEVER ok to blame the customer for your mistake.
I've been here before but doubt I will return. Nice dicey place. I was in town for business and needed a quick lunch.
I was told cross the street and check out the taco shop. I walked in and saw a huge menu .. Do what the locals do. Gentleman in front of me ordered a bacon egg and cheese burrito and a mixed chicken burrito.
I figured these must be small if this 5'4. The burritos were huge. The bacon egg and cheese was so good! The half mix chicken burrito that I was able to finish was really good. I'm just sorry I couldn't finish it. I was not disappointed with this spot.
Decent for a fast bite. My usual go to for Mexican is always chicken, but it's really bland and no flavor. But I stole a bite of my husbands carnitas fried pork burrito and it was so good I had to get one for myself. So if I were to come back, I think that's all I would order because it's amazing. But what really sets this establishment apart from all of the other 2. Its delicious, and you can load up with as much as you please to use for your other meals at home.
